Philpot.<\/strong> After being out of print for nearly a decade, we are glad to see Philpot\u2019s letters return to our shelves.\u00a0\u00a0The book begins with a short biography of Philpot, often told by means of his own writings.\u00a0\u00a0The latter 400 pages of the book are filled with Philpot\u2019s letters, arranged chronologically.\u00a0\u00a0We cannot recommend these letters heartily enough.\u00a0\u00a0The book itself is a page-by-page re-image of the original 1871 printing.\u00a0\u00a0As such, the print may be a bit obscured on certain pages due to the copying process, but on the whole, it is very readable.\u00a0\u00a0Hardcover, 560 pages.\u00a0\u00a0Item #46150, $50.25<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Letters of J.C.
